I did a lot of location research for this book - travelling up and down the Suffolk coast to find exactly the right prohibitedplace for the action to take place. Much of the time, I ended up trekking around old Ministry of Defence ruins, but luckily I was neither caught nor blown up.

I would, of course, stress that you should never undertake such trips yourselves. Only responsible, really grown-up writers should ever do such a thing. Idiots like me, in other words.

The pictures here show the town of Wolsey and the abandoned military base just to the south. Some of these places might possibly feature in Erased, but I've had to promise never to tell you exactly which ones.

in the distance ... the camp

er, um, er...

danger!

a crater

a surviving building

the way in ... but where?
